Phoenix recently became one of my favorite bands over the past couple years, and they put on an amazing show at this years Outside Lands. I was lucky enough to maneuver my way through the massive crowd to get into the photo pit and snap these shots. Normally the production staff kicks the photographers out of the pit after the third song, there was none of that for their set. I literally just stood a few feet in front the band the entire time. It was incredible.

One of my favorite music festivals in the country happened again recently, Outside Lands in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. Had the opportunity to take pictures of Nine Inch Nails. This was one of the most intense shows I’ve ever shot. My whole body was vibrating. And Trent still KILLS it.

Been a fan of Matt Costa for a long time now was super stoked to get him to participate in A Trolley Show. Here he is with a 12 stringer singing his song “Walls Like Windows” on the San Diego trolley in the middle of the day. Check out our production company at www.rowlbertos.com.

Came across these guys mid 2012 and they have continued to be one of my current favorite bands. I love the indie/electro stuff coming out of Australia and Gold Fields are leading the way at the moment. Had the opportunity to film them do a session for Slacker a few weeks back and it was by far the most energetic and fun session to shoot. Check out their debut LP Black Sun. Here they are performing their song “Moves”.

Filmed almost 30 bands this year at SXSW with Slacker at the Gibson Guitar Showroom in Austin, and this band was definitely one of my favs. Been a huge fan of Lord Huron ever since I saw them perform their song “The Stranger” in an extremely hot club in Chicago before Lollapalooza 2011 and it was such a pleasure to be able to video these performances of them a few weeks back. Definitely see these guys if you get a chance. More videos of LH from this session coming soon.

Last summer I spent 4 days in a small trailer that was converted into a studio to film bands playing at Bonnaroo 2012. These are called The Hay Bale Sessions. This is definitely one of my favorite performances of the weekend, Michael Kiwanuka performing “Rest”. Still gives me chills.

Had the opportunity to take pictures of The Killers at 91X’s Wrex The Halls at Viejas Arena in San Diego on December 7th, 2012. This one came out pretty well.

It’s not work if you’re having fun, and I have fun everyday working for Slacker Radio. A few weeks ago we did a session with Toronto based punk rock band METZ and they fucking ruled so hard. Here they are performing their new single “Dirty Shirt” at Studio West in San Diego. Video by yours truly and audio engineered by Hunter Levy of Studio West. Check them out when they come to your town. PURE ENERGY.
